I am Sardinian, English-educated, and I live in Paris, my adopted city.
I have three passions: politics, technology and poetry - and the good fortune to live in an age when I can mix them freely. At the OECD I wrote about policies for new technologies. At a Grande École I teach economics to engineers. I ran a crowdfunding campaign and thirty literary events to help a historic Italian bookshop in Paris, La Tour de Babel. At the moment, I help governments and companies understand how to make the best use of artificial intelligence.
Lo Spazio Incartocciato (The Crumpled Space) is my first poetry collection. It is about an expatriate's relationship with times and places. I left Cagliari at sixteen for the United World College of the Adriatic. Since then, like so many, I have lived suspended between abroad and a home that was no longer home. I studied between Warwick, Cambridge and London. I attended Fidel Castro's funeral, crossed a glacier on foot in Alaska, travelled overland from Hong Kong to Istanbul, stopped in Shenzhen, Almaty, Warsaw.
In my first collection I tried to give these experiences a form, to help me, and help us, make sense of the present. Not an exile, not an emigration without return. Expatriation.
